Frequently asked questions?
How do I know if I need therapy?
When your negative feelings affect your everyday life, it may be a good time to seek help. Feeling worried, not sleeping well, a change in appetite, or being unable to keep a job or relationship are signs that you are reacting to some stress that may be easier to tackle with the help of a professional.
How long does treatment last?
Therapy can take varying amounts of time depending on your issues. Many problems can be resolved in 5-10 sessions, while other issues can take longer. Duration of treatment will be discussed following your initial intake appointment and as therapy progresses.
How much does therapy cost?
I accept many insurances, with the client being responsible for a copay or deductible, depending on the individual plan. Check with you insurance company to verify what mental health coverage you have. You may want to ask your insurance company if you have a copay and what it is, if you have a deductible and if it has been met as well as how many sessions per year are covered. Your insurance company will be billed as a courtesy, once your coverage has been verified.
For those unable to use insurance, fees will be based on a sliding scale.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash and check. For a small service fee, I also accept credit and debit cards. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made.
Is your office handicap accessible?
My office is upstairs in the building, but if stairs are an issue, I can arrange to meet with you in a handicap accessible office downstairs. Please let me know ahead of time if this arrangement is preferable.
Is telehealth available?
Telehealth is currently available, although the first session generally needs to be conducted in person. Please check with your insurance to see if you have this benefit. I am registered as an out-of-state telehealth provider for the state of Florida. www.flhealthsource.gov/telehealth
Are appointments available in the afternoons and evenings?
Yes, appointments are available at these times, although these tend to fill up quickly so call or contact me by e-mail soon.
